I’ve always loved art and have been in awe of people who create it. When I studied English Literature at Portland State University (BA, 1985), I marveled at how a poet could put words together in a brand new sequence that no one ever used before. I learned that great art stays with us and leaves an indelible imprint; a lasting image.
My interest in digital photography grew as a result of two fortunate events in my life: early retirement and new travel opportunities. By sharing my “travel photos” (first with friends and now with clients), I have found a wonderful connection with people who share my love of beauty, near and far.
As a photographer, I am drawn to color, texture, light and shadow. Things I used to overlook – stair steps in a passageway; ripples of water in a fountain; colorful rounds of cheese in a market stall – are captured as lovely, lasting images. For me, it’s just a new kind of poetry.
